“Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” — Proverbs 16:3 (NIV)

Last week, we read that we should “cast our cares” onto God. Today, we read that we should “commit to the Lord whatever we do.”

All too often, we go about our daily life with no thought for God. We’re too preoccupied with what we’re doing, where we’re going, what we have to get finished by the end of the day, who we have to speak to or visit, and what we have to eat or drink. Life is so busy – even with the Coronavirus lockdown, the days seem to rush by so quickly, and before we know it, it’s the end of the day, and we haven’t given a thought for God.

Let me ask you – it’s something that’s been asked before, and it’s something that will probably challenge you again in the future: Are you living the life of your wildest dreams?

For most of us, the answer is, “No,” if we are truly honest. So, the next question is: did you “commit to the Lord whatever you do?” Let’s be honest, we probably didn’t, at least some – if not most – of the time.

May we do things differently this year. The first month is already almost at its end. Let us commit everything to the Lord, each day for the remaining months of this year – and let’s see what difference it makes to our plans!

The #SundayScripture chosen each week this year will reflect the daily Scripture verse in the Bible app, YouVersion. Why not download the app, or log in online, each day so that you can read a daily Scripture verse?
