#ThursdayThought

“If a book about failures doesn't sell, is it a success?” — Jerry Seinfeld, American comedian, actor, writer and producer (born 1954)

There is such a great deal made about success and failure in today’s world. We are encouraged to strive for success in life. But what does a successful life look like? If a book about failures doesn’t sell, is it a success? If it does sell, is it a failure? Well, it depends on your perspective and your intentions.

Do you feel like a success or a failure? It depends on your perspective and your intentions. Perhaps you have tried to make a success of something or in something, but don’t feel that you have achieved. Perhaps you lack something in your life, and you feel a failure?

But it’s all about perspective and intentions. Perhaps you have written a book and it didn’t become an international best seller, but you made a real difference to one person, or perhaps it will one day make a real difference to another. You may never know. The fact that you have written the book at all means that you have succeeded.

God created you on purpose – you were not a mistake, as the Bible says in Psalm 139. Take a moment to read it. Then you will realise that no matter how you feel, you are a success because God created you “wonderfully.”
