“Act as if what you do makes a difference – it does.” — William James
It is hard sometimes – you plod on, doing your best, day in and day out, week after week, month after month; and nothing seems to change. Nobody seems to acknowledge what you do, nobody seems to see. And sometimes it feels as though you’re just going through the motions – just acting, just pretending to be whatever you’re trying to be. And sometimes, that act feels false, because nothing happens.
Sometimes, you feel like giving up, giving in, throwing in the towel …
But, you should always act as if what you do makes a difference – because somewhere, somehow, to some one, some day – it does make a difference.
Nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.”
1 Corinthians 15:58
Nothing that is done with the right motive, for the right reason; to encourage someone, to help someone, to build someone up or to build something worthwhile; will ever be useless. You might not see it – but it does make a difference.
So keep going, keep acting as if what you do makes a difference – because it does. Thank You for it. God Bless You.
