“It’s hard to beat a person who never gives up.” — Babe Ruth (1895 – 1948), American professional baseball player
It’s hard to beat a person who never gives up; in fact, I would go as far to say that it’s impossible to beat a person who never gives up. They get knocked down, they get up again; they get diverted or even stopped on their journey, they get going again; they fail at a task or a tournament, they simply try again … and again, and again, and again.
They can’t be beaten, they can’t be broken; they simply get up, get going, and keep trying – until they succeed at whatever they are trying to achieve.
Isn’t that how our Christian life should be? We get knocked down, we get distracted, and we fail almost constantly. We can never be as good as we feel we ought to be; we can never do all the right things that we feel we ought to do; we can never say the right things all the time. We mess up, we trip up, we fail. But give up? Never! We must never give up.
If you’re finding your Christian walk a struggle right now, we would like to hear from you. We would like to pray for you and we would like to encourage you. Get in touch and let us know how we can help.
