“You must expect great things of yourself before you can do them.” — Michael Jordan, former professional basketball player (born 1963)

The man in the photo is my friend, Tom Lloyd, who sadly passed away last year. He was a larger than life character, who virtually always came out walking the mountains in his shorts when I was wrapped up in many layers and in long trousers.

His strength of character came from expecting great things of himself – so much so, that he successfully completed his training and qualified as a mountain leader at the age of seventy. He also expected great things of us, his friends, even when we couldn’t see or expect that in ourselves.

May you, today, expect great things of yourself. Who knows what you can achieve, if you believe. And if you can’t believe in yourself, then rely on the strength of Christ in you.

For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13 (NLT) https://my.bible.com/bible/116/PHP.4.13

Let us know what great things you achieve today or this week, armed with this knowledge and the strength of Christ. Leave a comment or get in touch via Facebook or Twitter.
