“Don’t worry about failure; you only have to be right once.” — Drew Houston, co-founder of Dropbox (born 1983)

It’s reported that Thomas Edison attempted to invent the light bulb some 10,000 times before he got it right! Just imagine if he had given up on the 9,000 or the 9,999th attempt! It gives a whole new perspective to perseverance, doesn’t it?

And the Bible writes about a call to persevere in Hebrews 10:19 onwards. It tells us to “hold tight,” to “motivate one another,” to “encourage one another,” to “trust in the Lord,” and that what we need now is “patient endurance.”

Whatever you are attempting to achieve or attain in your life, may you be like Thomas Edison and remember what Drew Houston said, “don’t worry about failure.” Keep going, keep persevering, keep enduring; and fail your way forward to success.
