You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail. — Proverbs 19:21 (NLT)

How many times have we made plans, only to see them come to nothing? I know I have personally made many, many plans; good plans, and what I felt were Godly plans; only to find them come to nothing.

But whatever happens, we can always be assured that the Lord’s purpose will prevail. Perhaps those plans we made were not for now, but were to teach us, to strengthen us, to stretch our faith, to deepen our resolve and our reliance on God. Perhaps that was His purpose all along?

As we consider our future plans, we would be wise to seek God’s purpose first. Then we can plan, and we are then – and only then – destined to succeed.

The #SundayScripture chosen each week this year will reflect the daily Scripture verse in the Bible app, YouVersion. Why not download the app, or log in online, each day so that you can read a daily Scripture verse?
