The people who walk in darkness will see a great light. For those who live in a land of deep darkness, a light will shine. — Isaiah 9:2 (NLT)

Doesn’t that verse, written around 700 years before the birth of Christ, perfectly describe life today? Many people are walking in darkness, struggling to survive in world that seems not to care about their well-being. Others live in a land of deep darkness, surrounded by injustice, instability, and insurrection.

And this prediction has already taken place: a light did shine; Jesus, the light of the world, arrived to shine His light on the world. And He is still here today, through us His followers and His disciples. We are now the light of the world, in the world.

So, let’s shine!

The #SundayScripture chosen each week this year will reflect the daily Scripture verse in the Bible app, YouVersion. Why not download the app, or log in online, each day so that you can read a daily Scripture verse?
