“We are all here on earth to help others; what on earth the others are here for I don't know.” — W.H.Auden, Anglo-American poet. (1907 – 1973)
It’s our fundamental commandment as Christians – to love God and love one another (the two are inseparable) – which means to help others. When they are in need, we are to help; when they are hungry and thirsty, we are to help; when they are homeless and lack adequate clothing, we are to help; and when they are ill or in prison, we are to visit them. How are we doing?
It’s a question that we should ask ourselves often, as Christians. Even as a non-Christian, we should help each other, don’t you think? After all, there – but for the grace of God – go I. We can all fall on bad times, difficult times, hard times. In fact, many are struggling through the Coronavirus pandemic and its effects at this moment in time. We are all here on earth to help others – what can you do today?
