“Only the mediocre are always at their best.” — Jean Giraudoux (1882 - 1944), French novelist and playwright.

You can’t be at your best at all times, you can only try at all times to be at your best. After all, if you’re satisfied with how things are right now, that’s the best it’s going to get. Don’t you want to get better?

Most of us are striving for something or towards something, and even though that may not be perfection, we try to do the best we can most of the time. None of us want to just be mediocre. Don’t settle for less than the best in yourself and for yourself; keep striving, keep trying, keep improving. Then, and only then, and only occasionally, you will be at your best.
