#ThursdayThought

“Sometimes you lie in bed at night and you don’t have a single thing to worry about. That always worries me!” — Charlie Brown Principal character of the comic strip Peanuts.

It might happen to Charlie Brown, but it doesn’t happen to me often. Lying in bed at night without a single thing to worry about? Does it ever actually happen?

We have so many things to worry about in today’s complicated lifestyles, don’t we? If we’re not worried about whether we can put food on the table, we’re worried about what food we’re going to put on the table. We have become a people of worry. Even Charlie Brown – when he doesn’t have anything to worry about, that worries him!

The Bible says:

Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

1 Peter 5:7 (NLT)

Perhaps easier said than done. But there is some comfort that God cares about us and will take our worries on our behalf. He will sort things out. So, all you Charlie Browns out there, worrying about not worrying, or worrying about whatever you’re worried about; give it all to God.
