“… let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think ...” — Excerpt Romans 12:2 (NLT)
You may have heard the joke about the light bulb in the church? The light bulb had stopped working and the church leaders were discussing it between them. One of the leaders said, “Well, we will just have to get it changed.” To which another leader, who had only been half listening up to then, suddenly piped up with the question, “What? Change?!”
Let’s face it, most of us don’t like change, do we? It causes stress and worry. Some of the most stressful events in our lives are those significant life change, such as the loss of a loved one, moving homes, a change in your job or workplace – even if it’s a positive change for the better, such as promotion. All these things are considered to be major life events because they cause us the most stress.
But for others of us, change is a necessity. Perhaps that’s true for you today? What do you need to change in your life?
Many of us struggle with hurt, habits, and hang-ups, flaws, faults, and failures. Perhaps we, like many others, have suffered some significant hurts or failures that still impacts on our lives many years or even decades later. The ripples of those events still crash into our day to day lives, causing heartache and hurt. We desperately want – need, even – to move on, to lay those memories to rest, to recover, and to change.
And the key to our destiny is what we think. It’s our very thoughts; the thoughts that keep running through our heads. And in that, we have a choice. Sure, we have unwanted thoughts that creep in or sometimes flood in uninvited. But we can learn to recognise those thoughts, and change them by choosing to think about something else. It’s not always easy, but it is possible; it’s not always simple, but it is worth the effort – to become a new creation or a new person, and Live A Blessed Everyday Life.
… let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think …

May we pray: Thank You, heavenly Father that you promise to transform us into a new person; all we need to do is to change the way we think. We ask that your Holy Spirit prompts us and helps us think in a different way, so that we may be transformed, and we can start to Live A Blessed Everyday Life. We ask this in the precious name of our Saviour, Christ Jesus; Amen.
If you need to see change in your life today and you are struggling, we would like to pray for you – please get in touch. Don’t feel as though you have to battle alone. May God Bless You.
