“Do good and forget about it; do bad and think of it every day.” — Italian proverb
We usually get it the wrong way around, don’t we? We remember the good things that we have done, and forget the bad. That doesn’t help us in the long run – it doesn’t help us learn, or to change our ways.
Better that we forget the good things, and dwell on the bad things – so that we will stop doing the bad things altogether. After all, we won’t want to be reminded of them day after day, will we?
