“Angry people are not always wise.” — Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice (English novelist 1775 - 1817)
We’ve all heard of the “red mist” that comes down when people get cross and angry, that prevents us from thinking straight and can lead to many unwanted consequences. Perhaps you’ve experienced it yourself? It’s certainly true that angry people are not always wise – in fact, they are probably the exact opposite. Anger clouds your thinking and affects your choices.
Scripture tells us:
Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret – it only leads to evil.
Psalms 37:8 (NIV)
If you are prone to anger, why not seek ways to deal with your emotions in a different way? In that way, you may instead be wise.
