“The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.”
— Socrates

“I know nothing – I from Barcelona,” was a well-known quote from a character in a well-known comedy series in the UK in the 70’s. And although it was a portrayal of a character that was supposedly a bit of a fool, it seems that he might be quite wise, in fact! He knew nothing – and he knew that he knew nothing – and he was prepared to admit it.

Proverbs tell us:

The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listen to advice.” And: “Get all the advice and instruction you can, so you will be wise the rest of your life.”

Proverbs 12:15 (NIV) and 19:20 (NLT)

After all, isn’t it better to admit to not knowing anything, than just pretending and making a mess of things? What do you know?
