Listen to the message here:

“True wisdom comes to each of us when we realise how little we understand about life, ourselves, and the world around us.”
— Socrates

Last week we wrote:

“I know nothing – I from Barcelona,” was a well-known quote from a character in a well-known comedy series in the UK in the 70’s. And although it was a portrayal of a character that was supposedly a bit of a fool, it seems that he might be quite wise, in fact! Often, the more we know, the more we realise that we don’t know. The more we understand, the less we understand – about life, about ourselves, and about the world around us. The more complex we realise it all is, the more we realise that we cannot fathom the depth of the complexity of it all.

Job 9:10 (Amplified Bible version) tell us:

Who does great things, [beyond understanding,] unfathomable; yes, marvellous and wondrous things without number.”

And when God created life, when He created us, when He created the world around us; He made it all beyond understanding, unfathomable, marvellous and wondrous – and how little we understand, truly understand.
